I started playing baseball when I was 8 years old and I fell in love with it right away. It was a very difficult sport and still is but I was fortunate to have great coaches to help me improve and keep playing at higher levels. The coaches I've had and the sport itself have taught me a lot, such as you can never get comfortable and you can always be doing something to expand your skill level. This mindset translated to the classroom, last semester 3 of my 4 classes were advance placement, challenging me at the highest level for my high schools academics. One of those advance placement classes was Spanish which completed the Spanish immersion program that I have been in since kindergarten. Completing this helped me achieve my goal of being able to read, write and speak a different language at a high level before leaving high school. In college a goal I have is to play baseball and pick a career path that I enjoy and can look forward to after baseball. I consider myself to be a fast learner and very coachable and have had many coaches tell me this, I think these skills will help me exceed in college.
