Hello- My name is Odysseus Soberal but everyone calls me by middle name Jalen. I am currently a junior and attend Bensalem High School in Bensalem, PA . I was born on October 6, 2003 in Langhorne, Pa. I am currently 6'0" and180 LBS. I am a right handed hitter and thrower. My primary position is CF but I will play any outfield position. To state it simply, I am a ball player I love the game of baseball. Since the age of four I have played the game. I respect the game and all the people I have played with. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches. I know without them I wouldn't be the player that I am today. When I am not playing baseball or not in school I enjoy working out and playing basketball. I also like to spend time with friends and watch sports on TV. School and baseball take up most of my time. I try to lift three times a week with some fellow teammates from my high school team in the off season. Over the winter months I do speed and agility training. I try to take it easy for at least one day a week, so if there are no games on Sunday I try to do something relaxing with my friends or family. My parents are very positive people and they have always supported me in baseball and that's one of the reasons I love playing so much. When it comes to college I would like to major in business, specifically sports management/marketing. If baseball doesn't work out I would like to get into working for a sports team. As far as my most important accomplishments I have played varsity baseball since I was a freshman in high school. Although during my freshman year, I was used mostly as a pinch runner due to my speed, but I didn't mind. At first it was hard knowing that I may not see the field or get many at bats but I used the time to learn from those older than me and when I did get the chance, I showed what I could do. I think that experience will help me in college. I lost my whole sophomore season due to the pandemic which was heartbreaking. But I am determined to make the next 2 years the best yet. A strength of mine is that I communicate clear and loudly both on and off of the field. I would also say I am a great motivator in the dugout. Coaches usually tell me that I am very coachable and always open to listening to advice. In conclusion, I would like to assure all of the college coaches interested in me that I'm a hard worker. I strive to be a better student, baseball player and person every day and know that there is always more to learn. Respectfully , Odysseus "Jalen" Soberal
