Michael (Dewey) Sheaffer '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, My name is Michael (Dewey) Sheaffer I am currently a Junior attending Halifax High School in Halifax Pa.I am a 3 year starter on the varsity baseball team playing SS/2B.  As a Freshman I was the starting 2nd baseman on my school's Varsity Baseball team that won the 2013 Tri-Valley League Championship.  My goal is to play College baseball after High School. I am a hard worker on the field and in the classroom who likes to work on the little things to make myself better in the classroom and on the baseball field.  During the offseason I am currently in a baseball specific weightlifting program as well as maintaining a hitting and throwing program..  I am a 2nd  baseman but have the ability to play anywhere the team needs me. I am suited for a Coach who plays small ball as I can be a leadoff hitter who can bunt and steal with success, along with hitting for a high average capable of moving runners. I am most proud of the fact that I strikeout very little and give my team a chance at every at bat no matter the situation. I believe my biggest asset to any future College Baseball program will be my desire to be the best I can be and the coaches knowing I am willing to make the sacrifices for the success of the team. I plan on attending a college with a strong Engineering program and a baseball program that has a long history of stability and success and the commitment to compete for championships. If given the opportunity to play for a College that has these qualities I know I will have the desire and work ethic to become the successful  student athlete that I have dreamed to be.
