Update: I have committed to Waynesburg University to play Men’s Soccer in the Fall of 2023. 

2023 Varsity Season:  Trained in the winter and 6 days a week in the spring with our defending District Championship team.  This season we went 13-9 overall placing 1st in our division of the YAIAA.  We beat Bermudian Springs (4A school) in the semifinals to advance to the YAIAA Championship losing 3-6 to the 5A Susquehannock team again this year.  We were proud to be YAIAA Runners-up and offered the chance to play in the District 3 semifinals.  After 7 1/2 innings tied 0-0, Halifax scored in the bottom of the 7th to take the W.  We have it a good run in 2023.  

I was named Athlete of the Week May 8th - May 13th by the York Daily Record.  "Aidan Groves went 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs during the YAIAA Division 4 championship clinching Win at York Tech with a two-run single in the bottom of the 7th that put the Squires ahead for the rest of the game."

Stats:  PA 48, AB 39, .231 AVG, .375 OBP, .606 OPS, .231 SLG, 9 Hits, 13 RBIs, 12 Runs, 7 Walks, 8 Ks, 2 HBP, 6 ROE (outran them with my speed), 11 SB.  Fielding:  .974 FPCT with 38 TC and 37 PO with 1 Error.

I give all heart and never give up. If I don’t connect at the plate, I go outside and hit 100 balls and ask my dad what I’m doing wrong. He’s my mentor and an Allstar player that is showing me everything I know. 

I’m looking to play for a top team with leadership and discipline ready to work hard and play ball!  I look forward to playing at the next level. I want to learn more, gain in strength and win some games! 

2022 Varsity Season:  I'm training hard every day 5-6 days a week with the #14 team in 2A in the State of Pennsylvania.  We were Runners-up at the York-Adams County Championship game.  We won the District 3 PIAA Championship game.  Now we are in the States Championship bracket practicing daily with our first game Monday June 6th and if we win, games on June 9, 13 and 16 (championship).  

2022 Varsity Stats:  Games Played (to date) 16, At Bat 1, Hits 1, Double 1, RBI 2, Runs 9, Stolen Bases 1, SB% 1.000, Batting Average 1.000.   Games Pitched: 1, Batters 3, Pitches 10, Hits 0, Runs 0, ER 0, Walk 0, ERA 0.00.  Fielding:  Total Catches 2, Putouts 2, FPCT 1.000.

I'm playing club for Diamond Academy 16U and looking forward to even more challenging competition and a stronger team to help grow my skills and advance my game in the Summer of 2022.  Stats (1 game played):  At Bat 3, Hits 2, Walk 1, Singles 2.  

I am a dual sport athlete playing soccer as well.  Soccer:  Named 1st Team as a Junior YAIAA.  DCHS Player of the Year.  DCHS Player of the Game 3 times 2020 and 2021 and 4 times in 2022.

Club ball - Plate Appearances 73, At Bats 53, Batting Avg .358, On Base Percentage .534, SLG .491, Hits 19, Singles 12, Doubles 7, RBI 9 (lead off batter), Runs 25, Walks 16, SO 12, Stolen Bases 27, SB% 87%.  

2022 High School:  I was offered the opportunity to start on JV or play on Varsity and I chose varsity.  Our JV competition would not have challenged me even though my stats would be outstanding.  I wanted the challenge of playing varsity and the rigorous practices.  Our coach is playing 9 starters and plays them the entire game.  I still play almost every game as a runner for either our pitcher or catcher and have scored 6 runs this season.  One game I was offered the chance to bat and I hit a bomb to the left field fence and got a double and two RBIs.  A few games later I was offered the chance to pitch one inning and it was nearly perfectly pitched with 10 balls thrown and 7 strikes with the first batter grounding out to 3rd, second batter pop fly to 1st and third batter grounding out to me (pitcher).  I am patiently waiting my turn in hopes of more playing time during playoffs and I hope to start my senior year after some really amazingly talented seniors have graduated.  In the meantime, I am cheering on my teammates and training hard.  

My ideal school is one that has a strong Sports Management program or similar degree with internship, a college atmosphere that is more like a family with traditions that I can become a part of and a team to play on that supports me academically and feels like a group of brothers led by a coach that mentors me through my weaknesses to become a better player and person every day.
