As a teenager, it is difficult to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life. There are two things I know for sure. The first thing is my desire to have a career that involves helping children. I love being a role model and mentor for young children. Helping out at my church's Sunday school program helped me to realize how impressionable children are and how my positive actions can have an impact on their lives. As a result, my career goal has to include somehow working with children.
The second thing I know right now is that I am not ready to stop playing basketball. When I first signed up for basketball, it was because my dad wanted me to play. After my first game, I knew I loved the sport and by the end of the season, I did not want it to stop. It was at that point I joined AAU basketball. I wanted to play basketball as much as possible.
One thing I have always tried to keep first and foremost in my mind whether while playing on my school ball or AAU team was to always be a supportive, caring, team player. I believe this shows in my actions and attitude on and off the court. Championship teams are not made up of individuals but rather individuals working together as a strong cohesive team for the betterment of the entire team.
