Sam DiLella - RHP...Pitching is a part of me and over the years, success has been the result. I have been a pitcher ever since I was 9 years old and have developed a strong pitchers mentality; a combination of toughness and calmness.
In high school, I was and still am a multi-sport athlete. I ran varsity cross country as a freshman before switching over to football as a sophomore, receiving varsity letters in not only football, but basketball and baseball as well. This year I decided to step away from basketball to focus on improving my ACT scores, which did improve immensely. In addition, I worked hard on the mound in the winter and by doing so, I became the number 1 pitcher on the varsity team. One of my favorite moments this year was striking out 14 batters in 5 innings vs. league rival, Haverford. I am looking forward to starting at quarterback this fall and getting back on the mound next spring.
As for the type of college I'm interested in, I would really love to go to a school with great atmosphere. In my mind, the perfect college baseball experience would be attending a school where the campus environment fits my personality, having the opportunity to contribute to an outstanding baseball program, and overall growing as a pitcher. In addition, I want to go to a college that has excellent academic options pertaining to a business major.
