Dear Coach:
My name is Ben Anderson, and I am an eighth grade graduate of Florence Chapel Middle School (FCMS) in Duncan, SC who loves the game of baseball. My primary position is pitcher, and my secondary position is 1B, although I have played other positions such as second, third, and outfield to assist my team whenever needed. I have been playing baseball since I was 6 years old (tee-ball) and regularly attend baseball games throughout the year in the local area. I have worked hard to be a good student of the game while taking what each coach or instructor has offered to improve & push myself both on and off the field.
Besides being a good baseball player, I work hard at being an even better person to my classmates, teammates, and peers. I am positive, dependable, and uplifting – even in the most challenging situations there is good to be found and such experiences can mold one into becoming an even better person. Academically, I am an excellent student with all A’s and a member of the National Beta Club at Florence Chapel Middle School.
Along with some great coaches and instructors, I am also fortunate to have parents who are positive, encouraging, and extremely supportive of my aspirations and goals. They challenge me to keep working so that I can become the best version of myself. In college, I hope to be so lucky as to find myself with a coach, a coaching staff, and teammates that will inspire me to go further, work harder, and be the best that I can be in both the game of baseball and life. Two inspiring movies that spoke to me are “A Million Miles Away” and “The Boys in the Boat”. Both films clearly showed that hard work, dedication, and persistence are qualities which can propel individuals to achieve the seemingly impossible.
Although 2028 is a few years away, if you are looking for a player building his skill set one week at a time to help his team win, that will be a great teammate in and out of the dugout, and a model student in the classroom then please keep an eye on me during my baseball journey and feel free to message me or my Dad with any constructive instruction to help me improve.
Appreciatively,
Ben
