My name is Dylan Christie and I’m in the class of 2024. I live in Simpsonville, SC and attend Mauldin High School. My love for baseball started at a young age when I was living in Northern California and has strengthened over the years. I work very hard as a student-athlete and continue to set high standards of achievement. My current GPA is 4.86 and I’m in the top 10% of my academic class.
I consider my primary position as a catcher, but I have played every defensive position on the field. I have been told I have good hands, and I typically hit in the number 2 or 3 spot in the lineup. I’m committed to fill any role needed to help the team be successful. Baseball has shown me that you must adapt with change and adversity to succeed, which has made me determined to never give up and always strive to become a better player and person. Moving from California to South Carolina when I was 12 presented a challenging situation. I left my safe comfortable environment of friends, teammates, teachers and coaches, and landed in a area that I was the new kid and had no relationships. In a short time, I made friends and found a new team that I could fit in and contribute. My personal challenge is to continue to grow physically and mentally stronger, and impact the team wherever needed.
My goals after high school are to attend an academically competitive university and continue to play baseball at a high level. I hope to be academically and physically challenged, while growing spiritually. My work ethic is second to none, and I will always put the needs of the team first.
