Personal Statement

I am a dedicated student-athlete with a goal of playing college baseball at a high level in a program that fits both my playing strengths and my academic goals. I will be a class of 2028 graduate from Legion Collegiate Academy in Rock Hill, SC, where I take all honors classes and will start dual enrollment courses in my junior year. I train and compete with The Battery Training Academy in Gastonia, NC where I work with college and professional players and coaches and focus year-round on developing every aspect of my game.

Baseball has shaped who I am. It’s taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to handle both success and failure. I embrace the grind — not just the game, but the daily preparation it takes to improve. My routine includes weight training 4–5 days a week, personalized nutrition to support lean muscle growth, and structured cardio and agility work. I also incorporate stretching and yoga into my regimen to stay healthy and reduce injury risk.

I plan to pursue a degree in sports medicine or sports marketing/management, with long-term goals of playing professionally and working in the sports industry after I'm done playing. As a teammate and player, I bring effort, accountability, and a drive to do the unseen work that makes the difference on game day.

Braden continues to enhance his baseball abilities on the diamond. Defensively, he shows solid skills with hands and feet working well through the fielding process. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. Offensively, he shows a squared setup with balance. Swing path is level and does a nice job utilizing the middle of the field. He shows a feel for the barrel with power improving as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he shows a 3 pitch mix with fastball topping out at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape but needs to work to stay on top of pitch more. He shows a plus feel for his changeup as he maintains arm speed with good sinking action. Control is a plus as the throws strikes with all his pitches, working both sides of the plate. Stock will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Braden has a high ceiling with time and room to progress his game.

03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Braden continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 62 mph. fastball showed a range of 61-62 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard resembling fastball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound.

Baseball Factory East Cost Winter Classic
12/27/23 to 12/30/23
This event was held at Jackie Robinson Complex. I stayed on site in the dorms with other players and was responsible for getting myself up and ready each day for morning workouts and afternoon tournaments. our workouts consisted of physical conditioning and fielding, hitting and pitching drills. My team won the tournament with a 4-0 record. I played 3B for my team in tournament play. I went 2-5 at the plate with 1 RBI, 1 HBP, and 2 singles. I had 3 plays in the field at 3B and made no errors with 3 put outs. 12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Braden is a 2028 3B who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. At 3B he shows good lateral angles with a 1-hand field in alley. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 64mph. At the plate he hits from a tall and even stance with high hands. Shows a lower half driven swing and keeps his weight between his knees. Showed power to all fields and a fast barrel through hitting zone. In live game action he made consistent contact and reached base 2 times. Braden plays with good energy and effort.

National Showcase - Greenville, SC
9/10/23 to 9/10/23
This event was a skills evaluation / pro-style work out to get metrics. I attend these events every 6 months and have since August 2021 to help me see where my game is growing and where I need to continue to work and grow. We are put through pro-style workout at our position; standard ground balls, front hand and back hand work, turning double plays, pop fly drills, short grounders, and batting practice. The scouts are watching our footwork, arm and throwing, glove work, and swing. 09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Greenville, SC Braden is a 2028 3B/OF prospect from Lake Wylie, SC. At third, he works hard to get in a good fielding position and shows off good range to the glove side. He is able to make all the routine plays and is able to square up the ball when fielding. He has a long arm action when making throws from a high 3/4 slot and he makes accurate throws to his targets. In the OF, he works hard to attack the baseball and square the ball up while making all the routine plays. He takes good angles to the baseball. He makes accurate throws to his cutoffs from a high 3/4 slot. At the plate, he starts in a squared, athletic stance and has a short, squared stride to the pitcher. He has a nice balanced setup and stays centered through contact. His swing path is level and direct to the baseball and he has a nice line drive approach.

Through Legion Collegiate Academy strength program, I work out 4 to 5 days a week with a different muscle group focus each day. I also have a diet plan for my workouts focused on staying lean and gaining muscle mass.

Private lessons at least 2 days a week with professional baseball player, Anthony Dimino (Mets organization) and college pitcher, Drake Quinn (South Carolina)

Daily fielding work and batting practice with my travel and high school teams. Two to three a days a week of pitching practice, and IQ training with my teams.
