Jake Boyle '21 Recruiting Profile

All of my athletic career I have had to work harder than everyone else because I started playing at a later age than most others. Instead of getting discouraged by that, I choose to work harder. Outside of school, I enjoy playing baseball and hanging out with my friends. Besides normal after school workouts and conditioning, I wake up at 5:30 AM, every day to lift weights or do some type of training.

I have played football, karate, basketball, and baseball in the past. Of course, baseball is now the main focus. Ever since I was 10 years old, I have dreamed of playing collegiate baseball and beyond. I work extremely hard and play hard as well to give me an edge as I move up in skill levels.

Academically, I have been successful. I have been able to maintain a 3.83 GPA. I attend Southside Christian School in Greenville, SC. The Competitiveness in the classroom is great, and I have worked hard to be where I am. I credit my success to my parents. They wouldn’t let me play baseball if I hadn’t done my homework yet. They never let me take shortcuts.

Naturally, I’m not super aggressive. This has been a big thing I’ve been working on lately. But regardless of that, I’m super competitive and love to play hard. I take every opportunity like it’s my last. The environment at SCS is great. I want to help the younger guys in the program get better as well. I feel like we can always learn from each other. Being a team player is big for me, and my versatility puts me anywhere the coaches need me. My strengths position wise are in the outfield and on the mound, but I can play anywhere that the team needs me.
