My name is Brandon Carver. I am a senior at Hixson High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am a right-handed pitcher and began contributing to my high school team as a freshman. I began starting in right field my junior year. I was awarded a "Golden Glove" award for my outfield play last year. I have a dependable bat as well. I started as a DH my freshman year and was batting in the two spot last year. I am a coachable team player that follows my coach's instructions to the best of my ability.
I have been passionate about baseball since I started playing at age four. I truly love to play, watch, and study the game. I feel that I will be a lifelong student of the game. Learning is also a priority of mine in the classroom. I am a 4.0 honor student who has learned to balance academics with my sport and other school activities. My family has encouraged me to be a well-rounded student with many different experiences. I have juggled a part-time job at a local sandwich shop along with taking care of my neighbor's lawn. I take advantage of the off season to continue my workouts at the gym and work with my private baseball coach on hitting and pitching. I always work at making adjustments to improve my weaknesses. I don't want to ever be satisfied because there is always room for improvement.
I am committed to high standards in regards to baseball as well as in my personal life. I lead by example by working hard towards goals and staying focused. Sometimes that means pushing myself in the classroom or in the weight room or staying after practice to get in extra reps with a teammate. My plan is to go to pharmacy school to become a pharmacist. However, it would be a dream come true to advance my education while playing baseball. It would definitely be the opportunity of my life so far!
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
