Austin Atwill '19 Recruiting Profile

I love the game of baseball and am willing to explore any university to continue my baseball career.  Arguably my greatest attribute is my willingness to work hard every day (off-season included) to get better.  As my team's starting catcher since my freshman year, I believe it's the little things I do right that separate myself from others.  I give 110% effort on every pitch and every play - without exception.  Being a good leader is also important to me.  In my role as catcher, leadership is very important and sometimes a difficult task.  I work hard at it every game.  I have been considered the "unofficial" leader of our high school team since my sophomore year.  During my junior year, I took on a larger leadership role, as requested by my coach, and will do the same during my senior year.  

Academics are very important to me.  I work hard daily in the classroom and whatever time is necessary outside of class to keep my high GPA.  My ACT score is a 31.  While my passion is baseball, I love everything sports!  For this reason, I plan to obtain a degree in sports business management so I can work in the sports industry.  

Character is, without a doubt, of utmost importance.  This is why I am careful to watch my words, behaviors and habits and make sure at all times that they are appropriate and good.
