My collegiate goals and aspirations can be condensed into one sentence. I want to attend a college or university and graduate with a computer engineering or related degree while helping my school win baseball games.
Being a student-athlete requires being a student first. I enjoy math, science and history. So far in high school I have made mostly A’s with a couple of B’s. Athletically, in high school I participate in football, and baseball. My freshman year in baseball I was promoted to starting varsity catcher and was named second team all-district as a catcher. As a sophomore I ended the football season as the starting varsity quarterback and received honorable mention for all-district, and l;ed the team to the playoffs. Then as a Junior I was named First Team All-District QB, and in baseball I was the District Defensive MVP. Senior year I was named First Team All District QB plus led my team to a playoff run. I want my time in college to translate to a degree that leads to a productive career that I enjoy. I love the competition that athletics brings, and I want to play as long as I can.
I am a competitive baseball player; I push myself to get better through practice and effort. I also encourage my teammates to strengthen the team. I play smart baseball. I anticipate where runners are going and where the ball needs to go. I enjoy hitting opposite field doubles and throwing baserunners out at second. I am very coachable. I want to learn new things that helps me become a better ball player.
My travel team coach preaches attitude and effort throughout every practice and game. I try to display this on every athletic play and incorporate this in my day-to-day life. I volunteer for a couple of local organizations and through National Honor Society. I also participate in Alba-Golden High School's student council and I am a member of the bell choir at Mineola Methodist Church.
