My name is Preston Knott, I am a junior at James Martin High School in Arlington, Texas (large 6A). I attended a private school up until my freshman year. I enjoyed playing football, soccer, and baseball. After my 8th grade year I decided to focus on baseball and fine tune my craft. I realized that I needed to be in a high school with a competitive and successful baseball program, hence the move to Martin. My primary position is 2nd, although I have also played shortstop and outfield. I began my freshman year on junior varsity and my sophomore year I beat out a senior on varsity for starting 2nd baseman batting 321 for the season and OBP 359. In my own words plain and simple, I am a ball player. I love the game of baseball. Since the age of 4, I have played the game with intensity and passion. I respect the game and all the coaches who have helped me on this journey. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches. This past summer I was awarded the "most energetic player" at the Vanderbilt baseball camp. There is always more to learn. When I am not in school or playing baseball, I enjoy working out and playing golf with my dad. I also enjoy working out 3-4 times a week. In conclusion, I would like to assure all the college coaches interested in me that I am a hard worker that motivates those around them to get the most production out of the team. On the field, I am a leader, communicating and inspiring the entire team. I have been told by many coaches that I am very coachable and always open for advice. I am ready to take my passion and commitment to the next level. I am ready to lock in and play college baseball!
Respectfully,
Preston Knott
