Personal Statement
I feel a form of pure energy when I pick up a baseball on the field. The lights, the atmosphere, the opponents, it all creates a feeling that became an addiction when I first stepped on a diamond. I remember every good and bad moment of the game, it resonates within me.
When I first stepped onto a baseball field, almost eleven years ago, I became hooked on the greatest game that has ever been invented. Whether on the bench or in the center of the game, I find happiness because I get to be a part of the sport. My parents have been a constant support throughout my career, driving miles upon miles to each tournament and practice, and taking me to Major League as well as Texas A&M Baseball games. Playing in high school taught me to be proactive about my grades and then put the work into practice. My goal is to play for a school that will be the best fit for me academically and athletically.
My dream is to play baseball the way that I learned best, only at a higher level where I can challenge myself. Clean, true baseball is rare in high school, but when you see it at a tournament or get beat by it in a game, you have respect for the team that put the work in to make routine plays and win the game playing sound baseball. Games should not be determined by who had the most errors, they should be determined by who played to the best of their ability and played clean baseball. That is my goal. Playing baseball to the best of my ability, with a team that will play together.
