Jason King '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jason King and I graduate high school in 2019. My passion is and always has been the game of baseball.

I've been playing year round baseball since 2006 and have been taught the game from the very beginning, by high school and travel team coaches. I feel very fortunate to have learned the game correctly and thoroughly. Over those 12 years, I have played every position for at least one full season/year.

My gene pool didn't exactly give me the 6'3" - 220 pound of all muscle, type of body that I prayed for as a kid. But what I lack in size, I make up for in grit and grind. I have competed at the highest levels of baseball available to my age group. I've been fortunate enough to be on teams who have faced some great competition.  Facing such teams have and continue to inspire me to be relentless in my pursuit of doing the work to become better.

But baseball is so much more than athletic ability. Having the right character and mindset can make or break a program. I've learned that fact firsthand. I can confidently say that I have both the right character and mindset to not only win on the field, but in life as well. I was raised to be respectful and coachable. Honestly, I just want a shot at being a part of a team's success story. 

My short term goal is to complete my college education at a school where I am able to contribute to the baseball program, in whatever capacity is needed.  My long term goal is to eventually coach baseball in order to pass on the knowledge and fundamentals of the game that I have grown to love.
