Personal Statement
Thank you for looking at my profile and considering me for your program. I am excited for the opportunity to attend a school where I can pursue a degree in Engineering and continue playing the game I love. Every morning when I wake up the first thing on my mind is baseball. I am dedicated to this sport and have disciplined myself to a daily routine of taking care of my body by getting enough rest, eating well, and doing regular conditioning and practice to help me be better at my game. My coaches, my parents, and other mentors in my life have given me great support and instilled in me a desire to continually improve myself mentally and physically, to set goals and to be humble enough to know that I am competing for my position every day.
I believe I hold the characteristics that a school is looking for out of a player and a student. I am a hard worker and I know how to balance the demands of school, the field, and life. I am a player who wants to lead and be a person who teammates look up to. I earned my Eagle scout rank at age 13 and it made me realize I could achieve any goals I set for myself. I have challenged myself athletically, academically, and spiritually to live life with integrity and to help others around me achieve their goals as well. God and family come first in my life and every day I play the game to glorify him. On my wall there is a poster that says “your talent is God’s gift to you what you do with it is your gift back to Him” and I believe that it is a blessing to be able to play this game. I am looking forward to bringing my talent and hard work to a great college program.
