Personal Statement
My name is Jordan Stribling and I am actively pursuing opportunities to advance both my academic and athletic career in college. I have been passionate about baseball ever since I started playing when I was 5 years old. I have been playing select major level baseball for my entire baseball career. The Dallas-Ft. Worth area has very competitive baseball tournaments and programs so I have been exposed to very good competition. I am currently enrolled at Highland Park High School which is an exemplary school and has a well respected competitive baseball program. I also play basketball and am the captain of the team. I have also been focusing my attention on my academics and I am enrolled in AP classes to challenge me. I am currently interested in pursuing a business degree when I go to college. Both of my parents played collegiate sports while pursuing their degrees and I would like to follow in their footsteps.
I have been told that my best trait is that I have good character. I attend church regularly and it is an important part of my life. I believe that being a team player is very important and sportsmanship begins with being respectful to others. My eagerness to continue to learn on and off the baseball field will continue into my collegiate career and beyond. I am looking for a school with a strong reputation for excellence and commitment to career development . I am seeking a stimulating learning environment and a place where I could connect with several like-minded students. I am also looking for a school that has a good balance between academics and athletics. I believe that I possess a number of solid qualities that can make a positive impact on a program. Among these qualities are strong work ethic, dedication, positive attitude and being prepared. I also have a unique skill set in that I am left handed, 6'6" and 220 pounds.
I am looking forward to the next step in my life.
