As a baseball player I have always had the opportunity to play "up", either with older players or at the highest competitive level. I enjoy the challenge of competing with the best players, and of always finding ways to improve myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have a very high baseball IQ, and am comfortable at any position on the field although I am a natural catcher. I am a big target behind the plate at 6' 4" with very soft hands, and I feel like as a catcher I have the best opportunity to put my teammates in a position to be successful. Even as a HS catcher, I am allowed to call pitches due to my ability to recall hitters tendencies and manage situations.
I hit for power as well as average from both sides of the plate, although the right side is my dominant side. I am an excellent bunter, and base runner.
I am a leader on my teams, on the field and off; and not exclusively by choice but due in large part to my love of the game and what my dad would call "charisma", but I just call "being tall".
I have a natural predisposition to coaching, and I hope to complete my education and be able to take my love of the game and multiply it by however many players I am able to coach in my lifetime.
