Hello World! My name is Luke Thornton and I have graduated from Gary High School in deep East Texas. I am 6 ft. 1 in. tall and weigh 205 lbs. I am a left-handed pitcher. I have been a varsity starting pitcher since my freshman year in high school. When not pitching, I play first base.
Since elementary school, I have played Dixie League baseball in Carthage, Texas during the summer. Now that I am older, I play on select elite teams during the summer. I have had many coaches over the years with different coaching styles. I have learned something from all of them.
My high school baseball career began with pitching on the varsity level as a freshman. That year I was awarded, Newcomer of the Year, the batting title, the pitching title, and made 1st Team All-district pitcher. During my sophomore year I earned the batting titile, pitching title and 1st Team All-district pitcher. After my junior year of baseball I was awarded MVP, pitching title, and batting title. I also had the honor of being co-captain of my team. My senior year I was awarded 1st team All-distict outfielder, pitching title, and batting title.
I also participate in cross-country, weight lifting, and basketball. I played varsity basketball as a freshman and earned New-comer of the Year. I made honorable mention all-district my sophomore year, and co-offensive all district MVP my junior year.
In high school I participate in UIL academic events, FFA, 4-H, FCA and Student Council. I have held offices in most of these clubs and organizations. I am on the A/B honor roll and have passed all of my exit level state tests.
I plan on furthering my education by attending college. I am interested in several different areas including forestry, coaching, and engineering. I am still undecided upon a field of major.
I am a freshman and playing baseball for Panola Jr.College and looking to play at a 4 year college.I am a hard worker and take baseball very serious. I know that every coach has something to offer me to make me a better player. With my pitching and batting abilities, I feel that I have a lot to offer a team.;I have also been in a leadership role and know that every player is important to the team.
