Greetings Coaches, my name is John Finnigan, but everyone calls me "Drew". I am primary a catcher, but have played every position on the field, and I have pitched. I enjoy competition at just about everything, but baseball is a passion. I play baseball because I love the game. If I can't play baseball, I want to watch baseball. I hope to coach one day, as I just can't see a time when I am not around the game.
As I finish high school in May of 2024, and walk away from Grapevine High School, my goal is the "go to college to study civil/electrical engineering and be honored to play baseball for my school." I say it like that, as I believe it - my life goals are education, family, career, baseball.
The game of baseball is like no other - its strategy, its failure, its about over coming adversity, its making split decisions on the fly, its speed, power, and grace all in one. Its a game played from more than 100 years and as much as they try and change it - it will always stay the same. I am looking for a school that will challenge me, and a coach that will challenge me more. Baseball is Life.
Thank you for reading my statement, Drew Finnigan.
