For as long as I remember, I have always loved baseball. My parents have encouraged my athletic development and given me opportunities to excel at baseball and my other endeavors. As much as they help me succeed in baseball, they have have always stressed the importance of my academics. With this in mind, I have been able to make myself mentally stronger to face life's issues and know that it is through knowledge and learning that I will be better both on and off the field as a person and as an athlete.
Although I know am part of the Texas Cavemen organization, I was part of the North Texas Bulls for nearly five (5) years. Throughout this time, I have been able to watch organizations, my teammates and my teams grow. Not only have we won a significant number of championships, we have become a family doing it. I will always have the memories of my walk off stand up double which allowed my team to go on and win 4 more games that day eventually winning the USSSA Global World Series for our division. Now that I am part of the oldest of the teams, I have become one of the leaders and help the younger teams develop. I help coach, teach others that through perseverance they can exceed, take the lead in our organization charity events, and show up at many of the younger team events to cheer them on as they play.
I think the most important thing that I've learned about baseball is the camaraderie and team work. I have learned that as much as my teammates rely on me, I also can count on them. It is with this that I also have taken my love of the game to do additional volunteer work to assist physically and mentally challenged children play baseball with the Miracle League of Southlake for multiple seasons.
My love of the sport has also translated into one of my jobs as a certified Umpire for North Texas Sports Officials (NTSO). I have been umpiring since I was 13 to further improve my knowledge of the game.
