Andrew Hayden '23 Recruiting Profile

**** I am blessed to have committed to Ouachita Baptist University in October, 2022. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to my parents for supporting me along the way, the many coaches who have helped to make this possible, and all of my teammates for the encouragement and support you have given me. Let's go Tigers!!!

I put my first baseball glove on at the age of 5 and immediately took control of the pitcher’s mound…LOL No. I wasn’t pitching, but I did  field a lot of grounders as the "pitcher" and chased down lots of baserunners before they could reach 1st during that t-ball season. It was so awesome!

Since the very instant baseball became a part of my life, I have loved every part of the game. I cannot measure the impact it has had on me - from the friendships I’ve made to the life lessons I have learned. Baseball will always have a role in my life.

I have played at the highest levels available with some of the best teams in Dallas, TX. Although the competition has been fierce, I have won numerous trophies, rings, and banners with those teams. I have been named as “Dude of the Day” several times (5 Tool) and to three “All Tournament teams” (Perfect Game) with my travel clubs. I have been awarded “All Conference” and “All Academic” awards with my Lone Oak HS team. 

I am a “team first” player. I know how to compete. I understand the work ethic needed to succeed.

My goals for college are to continue to improve my pitching skills to reach my maximum potential, and then use those skills to help my team win a championship while earning a business degree.
