Personal Statement

Preparing for my senior season, I have no doubt that I want to play baseball beyond high school.  I have had this goal for as long as I can remember, but it was amplified when I was given the opportunity to pitch in my first College Showcase Tournament in July 2016 at the age of 14.  I thought standing on that mound was the best feeling in the world, but I was wrong...standing on that mound for a complete game, shut out was the best feeling in the world.  I believe that I possess the talent necessary to excel as a left-handed pitcher at the collegiate level, and I know that I have the commitment and work ethic required to achieve this goal.  I am focused on enhancing my arm strength and work weekly with a personal trainer.  Additionally, I am working with a nutritionist to gain weight in a healthy way.  I plan to be better than ever this summer and during my 2018-2019 high school season.  Equally important is the fact that I have the academic skillset necessary to also be successful in a collegiate classroom and the character expected of any collegiate athlete.  I have the support of two parents who are equally committed to me pursuing my dream of being on a collegiate roster for the Class of 2020.

  • Large frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Primary left handed pitcher with a full overhead, side step delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and woks to the plate with drop and drive actions. Stays in line and works over front side well at finish. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a loose three-quarters slot. Fastball generated some downhill angle to the plate with natural cut to glove side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 miles per hour. Slider had 2/8 shape with loose spin and some sweeping action to glove side in the mid 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering that showed some sink to the bottom of the zone in the mid 60's as well. Consistently looked to fill the zone and challenge hitters with all three pitches while showing developing feel for each edge of the plate. Excellent student as well.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
