Personal Statement
Hello Coach,
My name is Dillon Hodge and I love sports with baseball being my passion! I am very competitive, athletic, coachable student athlete. I play hard, give 100% effort and play whatever role is asked of me. Baseball has gotten more of my time, over and above any other sport. However, I am a multi -sport athlete not only playing high school baseball but football and basketball as well. I have been on travel baseball teams since a very young age. Traveling across the US, I have seen what great competition is like and what it takes to get to the next level. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches and personal trainers. I know without them, I wouldn’t be the player that I am today. However there’s always more to learn and improve on. My primary position is catching, however I am a solid utility player as well as a Right Hand Pitcher. My freshman and sophomore year I was the starting Short Stop for our Varsity team earning All District Infielder both years.
My goal moving forward is not only to play baseball at a high level but also get a college education. I want to play baseball for as long as I can, but understand that an education will last a lifetime. Academically I strive to excel. I am a 4.0 student, a member of the National Honors Society and also a high ranking officer in my high school FFA chapter. Within the FFA community I’m active in the Agriculture industry where I raise and show my own livestock. I'm a very responsible individual with strong work ethics both on and off the field.
I am looking for a college with a strong academic program as well as a competitive athletic program. If you take your chances on me, I will not let you down and feel you will be pleased with your recruiting decision.
Please contact me should you have any questions! I appreciate your time.
Thank you,
Dillon Hodge
