My great grandfather was committed to play college ball but sacrificed his dreams to fight in World War II. He was a German POW for six months before he was released. Once he returned from the war, he never lost his love of the game and passed on his passion to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Since an early age, my whole life has revolved around baseball. I can never play enough games or train enough to get better. I have committed myself to organized baseball over many years and work hard to be a team player and a leader. Last year I was involved in an accident that almost took my life but left me with an injury. I had to work very hard to overcome this obstacle to return to playing at an advance level. I learned that you must be patient with rehabilitation and taking some time off benefits both the body and the mind. I was given a second chance to pursue my goal of playing college baseball. After graduation, I plan on pursuing my academic and baseball career to earn a degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology. My goal is to earn a teaching certificate and become a baseball coach or hitting instructor. Over the years, I’ve had more experience than most players such as playing in high stakes state and national tournaments. I know that I have the determination and focus to play at an advanced level.
