Kevin "KJ" Bates '25 Recruiting Profile

I am looking for a school where I can work hard for good grades, and work even harder to earn a spot on the team. My primary position is 1B, but I can also serve as a relief/back-up catcher. I look up to the more seasoned players in order to gain more knowledge at my positions. Baseball has been apart of my life since t-ball. I have a strong passion for the game and my drive and motivation grow each day. What makes me a good candidate on a baseball team is the ability to pick my teammates up when they get down on themselves to go out there and make the very next play. What separates me from other recruits is that I enjoy serving in my church and doing community service, because doing something good brings joy to my heart. I also take academics very seriously because I can not play without good grades. My parents taught me to prioritize Faith, Family, Academics, Athletics, and THEN any other activities. College baseball is potentially the next step for me in my future, and I am thrilled to earn a chance to play 1B/Catcher at the next level.
