Hello, my name is Dylan Miller; I am currently a Senior and attend George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, Virginia where I take a combination of IB and Honors courses and carry a 3.7 GPA. My SAT is 1410. I bat Right and throw Right. My primary position is catcher with a strong secondary at MIF, though I can play any position well when needed.
Baseball has been my passion since I started playing travel ball at 9u and I am very grateful to all the great coaches who have helped me along the way. I pride myself on being a great teammate and very coachable. While extremely competitive, I don’t let setbacks get to me and I try to help my pitchers and team by demonstrating my confident and cool demeanor on the field.
I keep very busy with baseball year-round, playing with my showcase team during the summer and fall, while also guest playing for a longtime coach who runs a local travel team when he needs me. In addition, I work hard in the off season with a strength, conditioning, and agility program with my personal coach at a local facility (where I also work for them catching bullpen) and in my home gym at least 3 times a week. I also volunteer as a coach for my old little league which I really enjoy.
I am interested in pursuing a major in Physics and most likely Astronomy. Balancing my academic goals with my baseball goals is very important to me.
My High School team finished an exciting season last year where we were District Champions. I had a setback at the beginning of summer ball when I broke my ankle sliding into third base, but I am now fully healed and back on track with an agressive off-season skills and conditioning program. I am looking forward to my senior year of high school where I hope to demonstrate how my academics, work ethic, being a team player, confident leadership, and dedicated passion can be what a college team and coaches are looking for.
