My name is James Riley and I go by JJ on the field. I am a senior at Gloucester High School in Gloucester, VA. I will graduate in 2022. I live in a small community on the water where I am known both for baseball and fishing. When I am not playing ball, you can usually find me fishing. As a student, I am persistent and dedicated. I currently have a 3.6 GPA . I am an active member of my church and enjoy the volunteer activities this provides me. Prior to Covid, I worked at a camp for many summers in a row that fixes up homes, builds handicap ramps and helps the elderly with yard work.
As an athlete, I am open to any knowledge of the game that I can receive. I have played baseball all my life and have enjoyed catching, short stop, and most recently utilizing my speed in the outfield. I believe that keeping a positive attitude is half the game. I always give 110% on the field, in the cage, during warmups and am the first with an encouraging word for a teammate. I am very coachable and want to be coached. I love this sport and I want to keep pushing myself to be a better player and bigger asset to my team. I hope to be able to play at the college level and feel that I would be a player that can be coached, can be counted on and always brings a great attitude to the field.
