Zachary Durick '23 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play baseball at school with strong academic programs in computer science and environmental science.  I am looking for a program that values academics and athletics and is interested in true student athletes.  My strongest assets are my speed and ability to get on base,  work ethic, commitment to team, and coachability.  I routinely have high OBP and speed on the base path that allows me to score once I get on base.  I am not going to be the biggest player on a team, but I will be the hardest worker both on the field and in the classroom. A short story about my work ethic:  when I was 12 years old, I tried out for and did not make the top travel team in the area.  The coach offered me the chance to practice with the team but said that I had to be committed to practicing with that team.  I practiced with that team for a year.  I played no games with that team, but I went to every single practice and put in the work as if I was a team member.  That work paid off the following year, but it was definitely hard at 12 to show up to every single workout and listen to the coaches and players talk about games and tournaments.   I continue to bring that same kind of work ethic and dedication to every team that I play on, my off season workouts, and in the classroom.
