Preston Robbins '21 Recruiting Profile

 Summer 2020: Been playing for American Legion Post 137 (Midlothian Va) and in on-going summer tournaments for my travel ball team at Shepherd Stadium. Jack Horner is the coach contact for Legion ball and James Bierlein is the contact for RISE Baseball. Lots of streaming and video can be found for my RISE games. While not playing, I continue to work on my fielding drills, foot work and hitting. I really enjoy Hitting by not over complicating my swing. I consider myself a Gap to Gap Hitter. I have work ethics and know how to set goals for myself. For example I set a goal for myself to play for the highly competitive Manchester High School baseball while in middle school. I made the team as an eighth grader. My next goal was to be a dual JV/Varsity roster player. I achieved it as a freshman. I became the starting catcher for my high school Varsity team in my sophomore year and was third in hitting (behind two seniors) that same year. I have played the catcher position and other utility positions since the age of 7. I like to set goals and work hard to achieve them. I play baseball during the spring, summer and fall. I train during the winter months in order to be prepared for the upcoming season and pursue other activities that keep me physically in shape and motivated. During school I focus to maintain my grades and my GPA which is currently 3.7 (weighted is 3.9). I take architecture classes and have an interest in engineering. Military History fascinates me and I would love to be an airline pilot one day. I also like to work on small engines and my truck. I hope to be able to play baseball at the collegiate level and look forward to the opportunity.
