Lucas McPherson '24 Recruiting Profile

Baseball has been my passion since I was 4 years old.  I have played the sport in the spring, summer, and fall seasons since that time. In addition to recreational baseball with PONY, I began playing for a travel baseball team at 8 years old.  I really had a desire to be a leader of the team and felt that the catcher position gave me that ability.  I worked on my craft as a catcher and trained with an instructor who helped me to improve my abilities at the position significantly.  I also regularly hit with a batting instructor throughout the year. As a Freshman, I was the starting catcher for my High School.  As a sophomore, I was the starting catcher for my High School and made the All-County 2nd team and the All-Conference 2nd team. I also lead our team in batting average. I played for the Post 13 American Legion Team in the summer of 2022, and hope to finish my High School and Legion seasons strong. My goals are to play college baseball and to perform at a higher level. I am hard-working and will give 110% effort on and off the field.  I am always working to improve my ability to play the game I love.
