Ever since I was little I have loved baseball. I have also competed in downhill ski racing since I was 6 years old though I am not competing this winter because I want to focus on getting ready for next baseball season by working out and practicing. Over the years ski racing showed me that winning is a great feeling and losing isn't. But it also taught me that every time I lost, I had to figure out what I needed to do in order to do better the next race. That helped me in baseball a lot because it taught me how to deal with failure whether it was at the plate or in the field. It taught me that instead of taking a loss as a bad thing, I can use it to better myself for the next time.
I would be a great player for your team because I love learning new ways to get better, I am hard working, and competitive. Even though I have worked hard at my main position (shortstop) I have still proven that I can learn new skills and positions very quickly. For example, last high school season as a sophomore on varsity I got put in left field in our first game of the season even though I have only played outfield a couple times my whole life. I played really well and proved that I was able to learn quickly which led me to starting most of the games that year in left field. If you're looking for a good team player that plays his position right and focuses on getting on base no matter what for the rest of the team, then I am the right person.
