Personal Statement

I strive to be a leader on any team I play for. I try to encourage my teammates to stay positive and believe anything is possible. I work hard at my craft, knowing extra effort will separate me from other players. I help and respect my coaches on and off the field whenever possible. I want to be a great player but it is also my goal to be a captain and I know I have to lead by example for this goal to happen. I work hard to learn and understand the game and pride myself on being a smart player with good baseball IQ.

I am a good, smart hitter. I have lead many of my teams in advanced hitting stats for two years, understanding when and where to place the ball in order to makes plays and drive in runs. I know it is my job to help my infielders by being an attentive first baseman, making plays and taking care of the ball. I work hard to never let my emotions show - never too high and never too low - always looking forward to the next play.

I know that my life in baseball translates to life. I have learned that hard work is necessary in order to achieve success as well as focus and sacrifice. I am a child of God and praise him in all I do, knowing all things are possible through Him. I wake up each day striving to be a better version of myself - I pray, I respect and spend time with my family, I put my work in, and then I spend time having fun (generally, in that order). I was born without an esophagus and the many nights in the hospital growing up, taught me to live each day to the fullest and never let anyone tell you that you can't. It is up to me what comes next and even though God's plan isn't always what I envision, I keep looking forward - just like looking forward to the next play, the next at bat, the next game, the next goal.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
