After three years of high school, I have been able to maintain over a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and I would like to continue to maintain this GPA throughout the next two years. Some of my collegiate goals are to attend a four year college that best suits my academic interests, as well as, a school with a strong baseball program. A few character traits that I have is being a good teammate, being coachable and a having a strong balance between academics and athletics. Also, I enjoy competing in sports and I've had a few learning experiences that I use in order to get better. I take passion in staying disciplined and also encouraging others to do their best.
I have played baseball ever since I was four years old and I have been interested in the game ever since. While playing baseball, I have learned that other players and coaches can have trust in me as a player on the field and at the plate. I have also learned to have trust in my teammates throughout the years of playing the game. One obstacle that I had to overcome, was towards the beginning of my freshmen year. After playing and starting every game during youth baseball, I played only a few innings over the course of the first seven games. This was a tough obstacle to overcome but I didn’t let it get the best of me. Through a lot of hard work, persistence and fortitude, I was able to get myself into a starting position. I feel blessed that my family raised me to have a strong work ethic not only in academics and athletics but also being optimistic.
