Hi! My name is Sky Ward and I am a 2026 student athlete from California. Coming from a small gym, I’ve learned that greatness in the cheer world isn’t defined by banners or status, but by the resilience, grit, and selflessness a team/athlete withholds. For six seasons, I built strong team bonds and trust, while learning the importance of resilience. I’ve seen cheer from multiple different point of views as an alternate, a center performer, a captain, and a coach. I’ve experienced growth and learned a plethora of lessons from each position I’ve held on the mat. I’m motivated by self competition and have the cheerleader mindset, which has helped me be able to pass multiple IB classes, excel in the patient care and personal/professional skills programs at my school, set records at my job, and maintain a controlled mindset in the midst of storms in every environment I’m put in. I have so much left to give into cheer, teammates, and coaches, and I know that in a collegiate cheer environment, I’d be surrounded by people with the same drive as me. This is where I strive to be because I know that here, the driven, excelling energy from cheerleaders at the highest level will allow us to pour into each other’s greatness and continue to learn the lessons that are applicable not only in cheer, but for the rest of our lives!
