Hi! My name is Benjamin(Ben) Schaps, I’ve been playing sports since the age of 5 years old, and I’ve participated in everything from XC, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Gymnastics, to now Cheerleading. I’ve always considered myself a rather athletic individual who is driven to be the best version of myself I possibly can. I’m independent, communicative, confident, charismatic, and always open to new perspectives and opportunities. But, at the same time, I’m always looking to get down to business so me and my team can be the very best version of ourselves that we can possibly be. When I joined Cheerleading at Buffalo Grove High School, my coach, Jeff Siegal showed me what it was like to really commit to a sport, and I want to be apart of that in college. I believe in working outside of school, and being on task regarding academics and extracurricular activities. In the end, although being committed to a sport is extremely important, I believe it is also just as important to have fun and really enjoy the sport you love. Being around the right people, and having endless fun doing what you’re there to do, is also extremely important and rewarding to me.
