Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Alexis and I want to go to school for criminal psychology with a minor in law. Competitive cheer has been my passion since I have been six years old. I have flown, based, and tumbled on many different level teams. Some levels that I have cheered on were minis, S1, j2, S2, j3, S3, j4, and non tumble level 6. This year I am currently on S5 and senior open nt6. Our gym has had a successful last season. Between my two teams, we have received a bid to Worlds, a paid bid to the IS finals for j4 , and both of my teams have received paid bids to the ASW in Florida. This season has been a busy one so far. My j4 team has been awarded grand champs and supreme grand champs at a competition this year too! II believe that I would be a great candidate for your team because I have learned to cheer as a base, a flyer and a tumbler. Being 5 foot 2, I have not been tall enough to be an effective backspot, unfortunately. I am different from other recruits because I can push through difficult situations. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease two years ago and extended Covid a year ago. The doctors at Mass General hospital saw me through the extended Covid and were impressed that I kept cheering! Saying that it wasn’t easy is an understatement, but if I didn’t push through then I may not have gotten back to my full strength and may not have been able to cheer. Being on multiple spots on the mat it teaches you character and to know that the dynamics of cheer would not be possible without team work. I was also just named Captain of my Varsity high school team! Academically, I want to learn as much as I can in my field, so that I can have success outside of the gym as well as inside of the gym. I would love to talk more to you about your college and my aspirations both on and off of the mat. I look forward to hearing from you!
