Jessica Haering '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jessica Haering, and I have been a competitive cheerleader since the second grade, traveling to competitions all over the United States including (but not limited to) NSCA in Dallas, Summit in Orlando, NY States in Rochester, and Nationals in Orlando. As a Varsity cheerleader, last year I lead my team to a first place victory in the New York State competition and a second place achievement in Nationals trailing by a mere 0.4 points. I am a level 5 tumbler, and I have been performing level 6 stunts for the past three years. Although I have served my team as a flyer, I am currently a base, and I am often told that I am the strongest base on the team. Something that a collegiate coach should know about me is that I have extreme drive and perseverance as an athlete, scholar, and as an individual. Despite severe injuries that set me back, I have always been determined to give 100% to my team and work out seven days a week to ensure that I stay in shape and am able to perform when on the mat. After my shoulder surgery, as soon as I was cleared to return to athletics, I was once again at the gym every single day, working to my utmost ability to regain any skills that might have decreased during my injury period. During a period of time when I was encouraged to be home-schooled and nurse my injury, I refused to go down without a fight and attended every high school class, in-person, with effort and conviction. I am able to successfully maintain a rigorous academic, intense athletic training schedule, and close-knit family life.  Currently, when I am not in the gym perfecting my stunting, jumping, and tumbling, you can find me in the yard on my air track working out and tumbling until I am satisfied with my level of perfection.  Cheer is my life, and I cannot imagine a day without practice and tumbling. 

    As I enter my junior year, my focus and commitment to being academically successful in all courses remains important to me.  I will be increasingly proactive in taking advantage of community service opportunities as I attempt to further develop leadership skills. 

  I am confident that this process will help me to find a college match that best fits my needs and expectations.  I want to continue to excel in athletics; but a priority of mine is learning and obtaining a degree in either health care sciences as I continue to pursue my goal of becoming a pulmonologist or education. I hope that my persistence, hard-work, and positive character traits helps me to find the perfect college and coach.
