Alexis Baughman '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexis Baughman and I am currently entering my senior year, Class of 2024, at Montour High School which is located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I am a hardworking and motivated student-athlete who has been a member of my Varsity Cheerleading team for four years.  I am dedicated and driven to continue my passion for cheerleading beyond high school as I pursue a degree in higher education.

I have cheered since I was in elementary school and participated in competitive gymnastics for seven years.  Gymnastics taught me the skills and determination to excel on the cheer mat both personally and as a member of my squad.  Currently, I am a base on my high school team.  I am also able to consistently perform jumps (toe touch, left/right hurdler, pike), stunts (full-up, inversion, liberty), and tumbling (back handspring back tuck, standing back tuck).  I previously competed as a flyer in my freshmen season of varsity cheer as well as back spot and main base.  I have been fortunate to participate on a cheer team that routinely competes at both the local and national level.  Most recently, my team and I competed at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida where we finished in 6^th place in the Game Day Small Varsity Non-Tumbling Division.  Since returning from Orlando, it has been my goal, as well as the remaining members of our cheer team, to fully dedicate ourselves to our routine and each other as we strive to surpass last year’s results.

While in high school, I attended both Montour High School and Parkway West Career and Technical Institute.  I have constantly maintained strong grades with a demanding schedule while completing my mandatory hours and state board examinations to become a licensed Cosmetologist in Pennsylvania.  I am interested in pursuing a higher education degree in either business administration or media broadcasting.
