Abigail Castillo '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a dedicated cheerleader with over 10 years of competitive flying experience with Cheer Athletics in Plano, a 4 year Worlds veteran and entering my 4th year of Varsity cheer and varsity competitive team through Rick Reedy High School.  I have been blessed to have won several awards and competitions over the years.  I have level 5 tumbling skills today and continuing to work towards level 6 skills.  I currently have level 6 coed flying experience and continue to strive to push for excellence.  I have recently been placed in a leadership role on my Varsity squad for my senior year and excited to see myself only continue to grow and be challenged as a social official.  Not only do I strive to be the best on the mat, but I strive to be the best I can be as a student.  My GPA is a 3.5 and adding dual credit classes my senior year to prepare me further for college.  While my GPA is good, I have been challenged with learning disabilities that I have simple had to push through and overcome.  All the while working a part-time job, competing at a worlds level in competitive cheer, high school cheer and competitive squad, HOSA club member and involved in Young Life and community service activities.  I am truly passionate about cheerleading and learning and always looking for ways to stand out and be a better version of myself.  While I am nervous about the challenges of making a college cheer team, I am excited to see the possibilities of my dream coming true.  That said, I believe I would be a valuable athlete for your cheer team as well as a student that your program would take pride in.
