Hi, my name is Lucy Frederick and I am a rising senior at Assumption High School. I am a midfielder and forward and am willing to go anywhere the coach puts me. I have been playing field hockey since I was 6 years old but I began to get serious about it when I started playing for IFHCK in 7th grade. Before playing field hockey I did gymnastics, but as I grew older I discovered field hockey was my true passion. I made a big move when I transferred sophomore year to Assumption for a more competitive, challenging, and committed environment.
I have always been a motivated person on and off the field, and I am always trying to make myself better. The moment I get a stick in hand I am thinking of ways I can improve my skill, vision, and performance. I like drawing corners, passing and assisting on goals, and defending. I was awarded the "Rosie" award for my team meaning that I was the most coachable, hard working, determined athlete on the team. I give my 100% effort every practice and strive to make myself and my teammates to do our best.
Some of my favorite things about field hockey are being on a team with strong women who love the sport, looking out for each other and putting the team first, being able to listen and learn from coaches and others, and giving my body a workout and focusing my mind when playing. My goal is to play at a school with a competitive field hockey program, supportive community, and great academics.
