My name is Naomi Fields, and I’m a defender from Louisville, Kentucky. I’m known for my high work rate, strong game IQ, and ability to connect plays through quick passes and patient transitions. My favorite moments on the field come from supporting my teammates, whether that’s being a vocal communicator, winning 50/50 balls, holding the back line or setting up smart give-and-go plays. My years of experience playing basketball translated to reading the field, anticipating the opponent, and effectively double teaming or shutting down the offense.
My injury freshman year and missing my sophomore season propelled me to find strength in my community and focus on controlling what I can. That journey shaped me into a more resilient, mentally tough player. I’m back on the field now with renewed focus, intensity, and love for the game. My goal this season is to sharpen my stick skills and keep evolving my vision and timing.
A quick insight into my academic life—I attend the duPont Manual Magnet High School in the Journalism & Communication program. It’s a competitive magnet, and I am 1 of only 66 students selected from a class of 500. I’ve earned the Seal of Bi-literacy in French, Honors in Journalism, and stay involved outside the classroom as a Whitney Young Scholar, a Kentucky United Nations Assembly delegate, and an active member of my city’s Youth Nonviolence Coalition. I’m passionate about community, reading, growth, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who’ve inspired and supported me along the way.
