My primary academic goal is to be a consistent honor roll student at Acton Boxborough Regional High School (ABRHS). In athletics, I strive to demonstrate leadership through hard work, dedication to practice, and team play. This focus has also enabled me to develop my stick skills, quickness, and endurance on the field.
In 2017, I had a surgery on my left knee to heal a bone lesion. Although the procedure itself is routine and was successful, it prevented me from playing field hockey during my freshman year. Initially, I was crushed by the realization that I would be unable to play for several months—but I eventually put things into perspective. My months-long stint on the sidelines made me more resilient, and as I cheered on my teammates, realize just how much I love the game.
While field hockey is my passion, I also enjoy ice hockey—a game that I began playing at age four. I was on the ABRHS varsity team’s starting line as a 7th-grader; as a sophomore now, I’m already playing my fourth year on the varsity squad! I believe that the skills that I acquired while on the ice for so many years accelerated my development on the field, especially my ability to anticipate plays and make decisions with the ball that are quick and smart.
I am confident that my dedication, skill, grit, and leadership qualities will be an asset for a competitive college team. I would welcome an opportunity to demonstrate to you my character and field hockey passion and skills.
