Personal Statement
Almost my whole life I have been playing field hockey. It has become a part of who I am and I realize more and more as I grow how much I want to continue to play this sport past high school. Playing on a high school team has taught me so much about loyalty, honor and leadership. I am so grateful for the opportunity to play field hockey because it has carried me through many hardships and I have met so many amazing people. I have learned what I am capable of and how strong I can truly be. I love the game and the rush I feel when walking on to the turf for practices and games. Field hockey allows me to forget about everything else as soon as I step onto field. I get lost in the sport and in those moments it is all I can think about. I want to play in college but I do also want to go somewhere that also has a good science/biology department. Science has always been my favorite subject; even as a kid I would go outside and find insects to view under a microscope, or sit in my basement for hours watching Planet Earth, being so fascinated in all sorts of organisms displayed on the screen.
Throughout my high school carrier I have maintained good grades and I always make sure I can find a balance with sports and school.I have made it my duty to continue to push myself harder and harder to maintain those expectations I have set for myself. I understand the commitment I must have for field hockey, as well as the other sports I play; and so it has taught me so many lessons and shaped me into the well-rounded individual I am today.
