I have been playing field hockey for 8 years. From 5th to 8th grade, I played for Barrington Middle School. At the end of that time, I earned the coach's award specific to field hockey and a memorial award for sportsmanship that was competitive against all student athletes at the school. Because field hockey was not super popular at my middle school, I encouraged 5 of my friends to join the team in 8th grade so we could field a whole team. This, along with supporting them on the field helped earn me those awards. Currently, I play for my High School on Varsity and Seacoast United Club. For the 2018 High School season, I was awarded the Coach's award. At Seacoast, I have gone from always playing defense to at times playing mid-field and recently forward. When asked what position I prefer, it is hard to respond because I enjoy and feel competent at any field position. I work to continually improve my field hockey skills in the hope that I find a college that will equally support my academic and field hockey goals. Because I have loved and excelled at art since age 2, I want to attend a college with a strong fine art program. Because teaching art is also an interest, I am especially interested in schools that also offer education degrees which would likely be a minor to my art major.
