Sofia DeThomasis '23 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for visiting my college recruiting profile! My name is Sofia DeThomasis, and I am currently a senior student-athlete attending Colts Neck High School. Some words that describe me are athletic, diligent, creative, intelligent, well-spoken, confident, leader-like, and humble. I proudly identify as a Hispanic minority (Ecuadorian/Italian ethnicity). I work a part-time job, take the most rigorous courses in my school, play field hockey and lacrosse, and participate in numerous extracurriculars. In freshman year, I was accepted into an accelerated career magnet program for Law and Public Service. Since then, I have capitalized on my desire to learn by taking only the most advanced classes offered. To date, I have taken four AP courses and nine Honors courses. Looking forward to my future, I am undecided about what I would like to major in. I would ideally like to major in communications, marketing, or pre-law and pursue law in graduate school. My character is well-developed on and off the field. I like to call myself an executor since my aggression manifests itself in the form of my desire to do more. My intensity and determination distinguish me from any college recruit and is particularly noticeable in my approach to my academic and athletic career. My creativity and intelligence help me come up with solutions to everyday scenarios, and my drive helps me execute my plans. As an athlete, I take constructive criticism from my coaches well. I realize my mistakes, learn, correct them, and execute them. I am blessed to have been raised to test my limits, take leadership, be confident, and always stay humble.
