Hi, my name is Isabella Vitale and I am from Glen Ridge, NJ. I  started playing field hockey in the 2021-2022 season and progressed at a advanced rate becoming a starter on my club and town rec team within only a few weeks. I have established myself as a team leader on my teams with a team-oriented mentality. and was selected to play on varsity team as a freshman.  I have strived to excel in my craft by playing in various regional tournaments/combines competing with older and experienced players (high school juniors/seniors) in facing top-level competition. I attribute my athleticism and conditioning to six years of competitive gymnastics, swimming, and fencing.  

As a dedicated student-athlete, I work relentlessly to balance my academics, personal goals, and sports. I have a passion for mathematics and computer science with my love for sports. My ambition is to not only excel in the classroom but also being a strong field hockey player and contribute to my team's success on and off the field.

In academics, my prowess in math and computer science has been evident through my achievements and my proficiency in programming languages like Python. I've delved hands-on in the fascinating world of artificial intelligence and machine learning as I believe these technologies will have profound and disruptive impacts on society, work force, and creation of new business opportunities over next years. I am thrilled by complex problem-solving and see both sports and coding as arenas to apply my analytical skills.  I plan to continue my studies in the field of computer/data science and engineering  as I enjoy learning about new technologies and application to real-world problems.

What sets me apart is my commitment to embracing challenges. I have consistently sought out the most rigorous courses, seeing them not as obstacles but as opportunities to grow. The journey of learning Chinese  as a second language follows my approach to academics and athletics -- I enjoy embracing the unfamiliar, learning from my mistakes, and work diligently to master my craft. I will bring this dedication and commitment to your university, team, and the program.

As a student athlete, I prepared to manage my time efficiently across academics, athleticism and personal growth.  A major priority is ensuring that my academic commitments remain intact while being part of the team.  As a mid-fielder, being a part of a team is about more than just my performance—it's about supporting and making my teammates better. My experiences have taught me that fostering an environment of respect and collaboration leads to success whether on a field hockey team or school team project.

I believe my unique blend of analytical thinking, passion for learning, fluency in languages, and dedication to both athletics and academics differentiate me and make me an ideal candidate for your team.
