Samantha Strathern '16 Recruiting Profile

I play Field Hockey because I love the sport. I work toward that by playing and practicing year round.  I am a varsity player on my High School team and a starter on my elite Total Dutch team. My immediate dream is to be the starting center mid on my team. My mid range goal is to play in college and receive a good education. Long term, I want to work in a school system and coach girls in the sport I love so much.

I am involved in many areas at my HS. I am Class of 2016 Treasurer and involved in H.O.P.E., an environmental group. I also am in Lyric, a poetry club. I will be looking for a school where I can be involved and make a difference.  Academics are really important to me, and I work hard at maintaining my grades. I love acting and will be joining Drama Club to be in the school musical this spring.

My biggest aspiration is to develop into a great field hockey player. I put the time in and work on improving both on and off the field. I hope to find a college where I will be able to be an asset to their field hockey team and the school.
