Kyleay Woodside '23 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Kyleay Woodside, I am 17 years old and a Senior at Cumberland Regional High School in Bridgeton, New Jersey. I was a starting Junior Varsity player on the field hockey team for Freshman year, and a starting Varsity player as a Sophomore, Junior & Senior. I also play on a travel/club team called Krossfire FHC as a U19 for both indoor and outdoor. I primarily play defense (left, right & center back, but have also played as sweeper and back mid recently when needed). I was the primary inserter when doing offensive corners for my high school JV team and share the position currently on the Varsity team. I am known for my strong and accurate hits, especially my push passes. I am also known on my teams for setting up and reading plays. My goalies that I have played with have all complimented me on my ability to work with and support them. 

    Although I have not decided what major to pursue, I have interests in Physical Therapy/DPT and Biology/Forensics. I am currently weighing the options between the two, with respect to degree level, available programs and accelerated options. I would prefer a small to medium sized campus in a suburban or rural area as I appreciate a small town environment. I like to be social and would definitely consider joining clubs and activities to stay active in the campus community. 

    I am an extremely outgoing person and love to encourage others on and off the field. I am jokingly known as the "team mom" to both my school and club teams. I have been complimented on my coachability and willingness to learn. Likewise, I have also been complimented on my teachability and willingness to learn in the classroom. I enjoy learning and trying new things, and am open to new experiences.
